Who We Are
Our Eardley Elementary Home & School is a non-profit volunteer organization composed of parent members.
We work in an advisory capacity with the school in order to enhance student learning and development, as well as enrich the educational experience of all of our children by increasing family and community involvement.
We are an independent voice in education in Quebec that is also affiliated with the Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations (QFHSA) and the Canadian Home and School Federation (CHSF). Membership into our Home & School includes province-wide conferences, an annual General Meeting, the quarterly QFHSA News newsletter and liability insurance.
What is the Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations (QFHSA)?
The QFHSA is an independent, incorporated, non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the general education and well-being of our children and youth. The QFHSA is part of the CHSF.
What does the Quebec Federation of Home and School Association (QFHSA) do?
The QFHSA promotes the involvement of parents, students, educators and the community-at-large in the advancement of learning and acts as a voice for parents.
What is the Canadian Home and School Federation (CHSF)?
The CHSF is a 100 year old, nation-wide parent volunteer movement dedicated to promoting the education and well-being of our children through parental involvement and other means.

As a parent, you are most likely already involved in the life of your child(ren), be it reading to them at bedtime, helping them with homework, or even running to and fro from all of their extra-curricular activities. If you can take the time to do all of these wonderful things, why not get involved more directly in your child’s education?
Volunteer
The privilege to function as an independent parent volunteer organization with your own bank account and agenda, in conjunction with your school’s governing board and administration and in accordance with QFHSA’s guidelines.
Resources
Access to a wide range of resources, workshops and networking opportunities that improve the leadership skills of Eardley Elementary Home & School. Today’s Home & School leaders become tomorrow’s community leaders.
A Voice
A voice for you, the parent, through collective representation at government levels and within organizations involved in the education sector and/or youth sectors.
Subscription
A subscription to the quarterly Quebec Federation of Home & School (QFHSA) NEWS, published since 1948, which preserves and celebrates the contributions, concerns and activities of local associations, reflecting the unique culture of the English-speaking school community of Quebec.
The Fees
Paying the membership fee also shows your support and belief in the work of home and school.
Tax Receipts
Provision of charitable tax receipts for your home and school donations and liability insurance coverage for every volunteer member in good standing when volunteering in a home and school sponsored event.

Research has proven that when parents are involved in their child’s education, the child succeeds better at school. The QFHSA is an independent voice in education in Quebec. Your membership in the Eardley Elementary Home & School automatically gives you access to various resources offered by the QFHSA, to help you begin to play a more active role in your child’s learning and education.
Together, we can better provide the means to facilitate cooperation and to articulate the needs and aspirations of the school community and help achieve the school’s primary goal to ensure the best possible learning opportunities for our students.
